Hier setzte er sein Studium fort, das er am 23.10. 1429 mit der Promotion zum Doktor der Theologie abschloß. Am 20.10. 1434 schrieb er sich als »sacrae scripturae professor« an der Universität Rostock ein, um der Promotion des Helmich von Gandersheim beizuwohnen. In der Nachfolge seines Ordensbruders Matthias Döring leitete J. bis 1444 und mit großem Erfolg das Franziskanerstudium an der Erfurter theologischen Fakultät. Ferner wirkte und predigte er in Breslau (1425), Heidelberg (1441), Liegnitz (1442), Halberstadt und Goslar (1444) sowie in Braunschweig (1455). - J. hat ein umfangreiches theologisches ?uvre hinterlassen. Neben zahlreichen Predigten und Gutachten zu kirchenrechtlichen Fragen (etwa zum »Heiligblutwunder« von Wilsnack; zur Frage der Neutralität der Kurfürsten) ist vor allem zu nennen der um 1424/25 entstandene, vollständige und nur in einer Handschrift überlieferte Kommentar zu den vier Sentenzbüchern des Petrus Lombardus. Das wohl am Studium generale in Erfurt verfaßte und für Franziskaner - streng systematisch - geschriebene Werk zitiert ausführlich Bonaventura, Duns Scotus, Thomas von Aquin u. a. J. verkörpert - nach Meier (1935) - »die beste Tradition der Franziskanerschule«, und er müsse zu den bedeutendsten Theologen des 15. Jahrhunderts gerechnet werden.	Bremer, Johannes (I20260)

She was the first Rus ruler to convert to Christianity, in 957 at Constantinople, when she took the name Helen (Helga in Scandanavian). After her baptism, she made many efforts to spread the Christian religion in Rus'.
