French general. He was a commander in the early victories of the Republic. Recalled to Paris, he denounced his old command Dumouriez and was sent to watch him in 1793. Beurnonville was captured, along with Camus, in Dumouriez's treason and was held by the Austrians until 1795. He returned to the Army after his captivity and rose to high rank under the Directory and nobility under Napoleon.
